Trauma Therapy

Trauma therapy is for adults who feel that past experiences are still affecting their present life. You may be struggling with anxiety, shame, emotional overwhelm, numbness, low self-worth, difficulty trusting others or a constant sense of being on edge. You might not always think of your experiences as trauma, but you may know that certain patterns, feelings or reactions feel hard to understand or shift on your own.

I offer trauma therapy online across the UK for adults who want to make sense of what they have been through, feel safer in themselves and begin to move forward with more clarity and confidence.

How Can Trauma Affect you?

  • Trauma can affect many areas of your life, often in ways that feel confusing, overwhelming or difficult to explain. You may experience anxiety, panic, or a constant sense of being on edge, as though your body is always scanning for danger. Some people notice hypervigilance, where it feels hard to relax, switch off or feel fully safe, even in everyday situations.

  • Trauma can also lead to deep shame, emotional numbness or a sense of disconnection from yourself and others. You may struggle with low self-worth, harsh self-criticism or a feeling that something is wrong with you. In relationships, trauma can make it harder to trust, feel close, set boundaries or communicate openly, often leading to ongoing relationship difficulties.

  • Even when the traumatic experience happened a long time ago, its effects can still show up in the present. Trauma therapy can help you understand these patterns, reduce distress and begin to feel safer, more grounded and more connected in your life and relationships.

How Therapy Can Help?

Trauma therapy can help you make sense of what you have been through, reduce the impact of trauma symptoms, and feel safer, more grounded and more in control. Depending on your needs, I may draw on EMDR, Internal Family Systems (IFS) and trauma-focused CBT. EMDR can help reduce the intensity of distressing memories, IFS can help you understand and work with the protective and wounded parts of yourself, and trauma-focused CBT can help you understand the links between trauma, thoughts, emotions and behaviours. Together, these approaches can support you in processing painful experiences, responding differently to triggers and building a more compassionate relationship with yourself, ultimately providing you with relief from your symptoms.

Trauma Therapy Online

Online trauma therapy can be a safe, effective and flexible way to access support from your own space. Many people find that being at home helps them feel more comfortable, especially when they are already struggling with anxiety, overwhelm or emotional exhaustion. I work carefully to help you feel safe, grounded and supported throughout the process. Together, we go at a pace that feels manageable, focusing on emotional safety, understanding triggers and building ways to cope. Where appropriate, I may draw on approaches such as EMDR, IFS and trauma-focused CBT, adapted for online work. I offer online trauma therapy across the UK in a way that is warm, thoughtful and tailored to your needs.
